Trippy Portal is a psychedelic reimagining inspired by the beloved fantasy film Coraline, transforming one of the story's most iconic moments into a swirling adventure through color, mystery, and imagination.

Released as part of Briz's very first Halloween Collection and Design Release in 2021, Trippy Portal captures the spirit of curiosity, exploration, and otherworldly wonder while incorporating the signature visual language that defines the Brizbazaar universe.

At the center of the composition stands a brave young adventurer emerging from a portal unlike anything found in the original story. Instead of a simple doorway between worlds, the portal has been transformed into a massive twisting vortex resembling a tornado or swirling dimensional tunnel. The spiraling structure creates an illusion of motion, pulling viewers directly into the center of the artwork and inviting them to follow the journey into the unknown.

Flowing outward from the portal is magical green smoke, creating an ethereal atmosphere that blurs the line between fantasy and reality. The glowing smoke twists and dances around the character, adding movement and enhancing the supernatural energy of the scene.

Hidden throughout the swirling portal are several recognizable objects associated with the story, carefully woven into the twisting dimensional tunnel. The mysterious door key and magical seeing stone become part of the portal itself, rewarding viewers who spend time exploring the details hidden within the composition.

Adding another recognizable touch, the character is accented with a spider-shaped hair clip, referencing one of the many whimsical yet slightly unsettling elements that make the story so memorable.

🎨 ARTIST NOTE

When creating Trippy Portal, I wanted the portal itself to become a character within the artwork rather than simply acting as a background element. Transforming it into a twisting tornado-like vortex immediately added movement and energy to the piece. By hiding story-inspired objects like the key and seeing stone within the spiral, the artwork became an interactive experience where viewers can continually discover new details.

The result is one of my favorite fantasy-inspired pieces from my first Halloween collection.
