About Briz
Brandi Young, aka Briz, the artist behind Brizbazaar, is a Pennsylvania-based creative with roots deep in the Appalachian Mountains of Eastern Kentucky and Southern West Virginia. Known for her colorful, quirky, and crisp aesthetic, Briz has built a distinct visual world where neon chaos meets intentional design.
Her name comes from a nickname—“branbriz”—given to her by her husband, Bruce, eventually evolving into the identity now recognized by fans across the globe.
At her core, Briz is a “devil-may-care” optimist—eccentric, a little weird, and unapologetically herself. That energy shows up in every piece she creates.
The Art
Briz’s work blends psychedelic color palettes with bold contrast, often pairing vibrant neon tones against black-and-white elements. Her signature style includes intricate doodle work, hypnotic stripes, and trippy neon drips that have become instantly recognizable across her designs.
Her subject matter is as diverse as her audience—ranging from spiritual geometry and symbolic imagery to horror-inspired characters and pop culture references—all reimagined through a surreal, psychedelic lens.
Working across multiple mediums—including alcohol markers, watercolor, and acrylic—Briz adapts her process depending on the energy she wants each piece to carry. Whether highly detailed or fluid and expressive, every design is rooted in years of intentional skill-building and a commitment to originality.
The Journey
An artist her entire life, Briz was first introduced to creativity by her mother and grew up in a small Appalachian town where making art wasn’t just a passion—it was a way to stay inspired.
Her first official paid job as an artist was in 2005 when she was a teen, being hired by a local photographer to paint a graffiti-inspired mural for senior portraits.
In 2014, she began sharing her work online, accepting portrait commissions and exploring what it could become. By 2016, that curiosity turned into a career when she was hired as an exclusive artist for a clothing brand within the rave and festival scene—marking her first consistent role as a professional artist.
Since then, her work has reached wide audiences through viral moments, collaborations, and a growing fanbase that continues to support and shape her creative direction.
What She Does
Today, Briz brings her artwork to life across a wide range of products—from cloaks, hoodies, and joggers to tapestries, prints, blankets, and more—turning wearable and functional items into bold visual statements.
She has collaborated with brands such as Diamond Art Club, Moodmats, Electro Threads, iEDM, V1Tech, Rolita Couture, Nailz by Dev, and Blackball Posters—where her work was featured in Spencer’s Gifts locations nationwide.
While she occasionally accepts commissions (primarily pet portraits), her main focus is creating original work and partnering with brands that align with her vision.
The Why
For Briz, art isn’t just something she does—it’s who she is.
Living with anxiety and ADHD, creating has always been her form of meditation—a way to quiet the noise and make sense of the world. When she’s not creating, things feel off balance. When she is, everything clicks.
Her goal is simple: to bring people joy.
Whether it’s through bold color, nostalgic references, or unexpected humor, Briz wants her work to spark happiness—even if just for a moment. In a world that can feel heavy, her art is meant to feel like an escape.
The Vision
At its heart, Brizbazaar is about unity.
Despite the wide range of themes in her work, Briz aims to create something for everyone—something that resonates, connects, and brings people together. Whether someone is drawn to the spiritual, the surreal, the dark, or the playful, there’s a place for them within her world.
Her vision is for complete strangers—people who might otherwise have nothing in common—to find connection through art.
Beyond the Canvas
Outside of her work, Briz lives a dual life.
One side is grounded and peaceful—immersed in nature, animals, and quiet moments with her three cats: Jinx, Jimmy, and Tabby. If life had taken a different path, she would have pursued animal behavioral studies.
The other side is expressive and untamed—drawn to makeup, dance, cosplay, and transformation. From creative photoshoots to bold self-expression, she embraces the same artistic freedom in her life as she does in her work.
At the center of it all is her husband, Bruce—a musician and guitarist whose creativity runs parallel to her own. As fellow artists, the two share a deeply creative bond, often finding inspiration simply by existing in their own world together. Both naturally reclusive, they thrive in quiet spaces where they can get lost in their crafts—individually, yet side by side.
Their relationship is built on mutual inspiration and motivation, constantly pushing each other to grow while staying true to who they are. Bruce’s quirky nature fuels Briz’s own, creating an energy that naturally flows into her work.
Some of her designs even stem directly from their connection—each year, as a personal tradition, Briz creates a custom piece specifically for Bruce as his birthday gift, blending love and creativity into something tangible.
Outside of creating, the two are self-proclaimed cinema lovers—perfectly content being couch potatoes, getting lost in movies and shows, or heading out to experience films on the big screen.
