Psyday the 13th is Briz's psychedelic interpretation of the legendary hockey-masked slasher, transforming a horror icon into a vibrant explosion of color, hypnotic details, and signature artistic styling. Originally released as part of Briz's first Halloween Collection in 2021, Psyday helped establish the visual identity of what would become known as the "Sunset Face" Collection—a series of horror-inspired portraits featuring vivid sunset color palettes, psychedelic effects, and unmistakable Brizbazaar design elements.

At the center of the composition stands a masked killer emerging from dark waters below. The iconic hockey mask has been completely transformed through a psychedelic lens, glowing with sunset-inspired shades of yellow, orange, pink, and purple. Throughout the mask are bold accents of Briz's signature black-and-white stripe patterns, creating visual contrast and depth.

The mask itself becomes even more surreal through enlarged mask openings that ooze colorful psychedelic drips. Instead of darkness hiding behind the holes, streams of vibrant yellow, green, and blue liquid spill outward, creating movement and reinforcing the dreamlike atmosphere of the piece.

Wrapped around the figure's neck are heavy black-and-white striped chains, adding another signature Brizbazaar element while enhancing the character's intimidating presence.

🎨 ARTIST NOTE

Psyday was one of the key pieces that helped define my very first Halloween Collection. I wanted to take a character known for darkness and intimidation and reimagine him through vibrant color, movement, and psychedelic visual effects.

The reflective water scene became one of my favorite elements in the piece because it allowed me to play with color in unexpected ways while creating an atmosphere that felt both eerie and beautiful. Combined with the dripping mask and striped chains, Psyday became one of the strongest examples of what the Sunset Face Collection was all about.
